Theyre not game breaking nor do they make me angry or make me think who put this in the game but its a game that says to me that Sega are unsure what they want to do with the Sonic series these days. Some were defending it calling it not all bad but most others were going much further praising the ambition narrative and controls of the game. This needed to be said. There is one outlier and that is Sonic Forces.
Its not bad just a little mediocre.
In terms of story and presentation everything about it screams missed potential. Content is so spread out over the different characters and each individual level so short and simplistic it just feels like a dizzying myriad of shallow meaningless interruptions in a stream of cut scenes and text box prattle. However some kids in the class i worked in two years ago likes it. The story sees Sonic the Hedgehog joining a resistance force to stop Doctor Eggman. Forces had a lot of potential it failed to capitalize on and mix that with mostly 2D gameplay and while you dont get a bad game per say you do get one that will leave you disappointed. That is I like 3 of those games.
